WWE News: Rey Mysterio had previously saved his wrestling gear for his son Dominick to use

It may only be a matter of time before Rey Mysterio’s son, Dominick, makes his in-ring debut for the WWE, but he’s not going to be the same type of wrestler as his father.

Rey Mysterio is one of the most well-known wrestlers across the entire world. His high-flying moves and his never-say-die attitude despite the odds stacked against him is loved by all.

However, his son, Dominick, is clearly going to be quite the opposite once he starts wrestling in the ring on a daily basis, as he’s over six foot and weighs over 200lbs.

At one point, Mysterio was saving all of his wrestling gear for when his son decides to step into the squared circle.

The Master of the 619 said during an interview with BT Sport, via Wrestling Inc: “At one point, I do remember saying, ‘my outfits are gonna be intact. I’m gonna store them, and eventually, if my son wants to wrestle, they’re gonna be here waiting for him.’

He jokingly added: “I never thought he’d come out 6’2″ 215 lbs. I’m still doubting my wife and just want to make sure I’m the real father.”

Mysterio also revealed when Dominick knew he wanted to be a part of the wrestling world and asked his dad to train him.

He said: “He’s got an idea of his own, and he didn’t ask to be a part of this world until he was 19. He grew up around it. We did several storylines with him and Eddie, of course. I think that always stayed with him.

“Once he figured out what he wanted to do and he asked, ‘dad, can you train me? I wanna see if I can make it in this business,’ I was like wow. I never forced it upon him. I never pressured him. It was something came natural and organic.

“I think that’s why he’s a different type of breed, but he has something special to give. I feel it. As a father, I have that instinct that he’s gonna be something special.”

Dominick has already made a handful of appearances on WWE TV alongside his father, but fans are still waiting for his first match inside the squared circle.

Hopefully, we won’t have to wait much longer for Dominick’s first WWE match, but he definitely won’t be wearing one of Mysterio’s past outfits.
