Darby Allin is one of the best attractions in All Elite Wrestling right now. He has a very unique style and an awesome character. He recently joined the Tak is Jericho podcast which is hosted by AEW World Champion, Chris Jericho.
Allin believes that being signed by AEW was too good to be true for him. For years, Allin was an indie wrestler and he really wasn’t getting anywhere fast. Now he believes that he is in charge of his own destiny. “It’s almost too good to be true.
Like, I don’t know. It’s sick as s–t. No, like, as being a creative person my whole life, as I was, it’s just like you’re in charge of your own stuff, so it’s, like, sick, just to do whatever you want.”
Allin explained, “yeah, so, like, the thing is, it’s like if I’m going to get over, I’m going to get over, like, being myself instead of, like, getting something, like, s–tty handed to me and I fail type [of] thing.
So at least I know I’m kind of in charge of my own destiny in a way.” All Elite Wrestling is home to many indie wrestling stars. Almost their entire roster is made out of the best and most talented indie stars. They also have a few very famous former WWE stars.
Primarily they rely on their great storytelling inside the ring, rather than the backstage storylines that the WWE relies on. Some people don’t like that, but some people absolutely love AEW’s format
