Assistant Superintendent Cindy Couchman interviewed at 3 p.m. Thursday for the Buhler USD 313 superintendent position.
Couchman is the third of three candidates that the USD 313 Buhler board of education will be interviewing. Candidates were selected for interviews based on their fit with desired characteristics that were developed with input from focus groups.
Couchman is in her sixth year as assistant superintendent. Previously, she taught mathematics at Buhler High School for 19 years.
The Board concluded interviews on March 26. Originally, the board was scheduled to meet on March 27, but what they termed, “with the potential threat of a ’shelter in place order,’” they moved the final interview to March 26. After a short recess following the interview, the Board went back into executive session for discussion. The announcement of Buhler’s next superintendent will not be made public until the candidate has a signed contract with the district.
